Moving Toward Freedom
I’m having a hard time breathing today. Charges were dropped against the officers who killed Daniel Prude—they saw a man in emotional distress, put a hood over his head and suffocated him. President Biden opened a new detention center for migrant children. Over 505,000 souls have died from COVID-19 in our nation. Parents, children, lovers, people—dead. I’m struggling, I mean it, and yet I know this: We only change our circumstances when people who love fiercely have the courage to dream a new world and then dig in to make it happen. That’s what our movement is all about; this is how we move toward freedom.

- Thursday, March 4th at 7:30 PM ET – Middle is co-sponsoring a Multifaith Candidate Forum for Manhattan District Attorney. Register now and join this important conversation to center racial justice and de-incarceration in the criminal justice system.

And, save the date for a Freedom Lab Town Hall Discussion with Dr. Kirksey and Dr. Bassett on the COVID Vaccine and the intersection of Race and Public Health on March 11th at 6PM.

I’m so grateful to stand beside you in this movement for justice. Even in hard weeks like this one—when it can feel as if we’re so far from freedom—your fierce love fills me with hope and conviction that we’ll get there together.
