Let Freedom Ring!

We liberated our Liberty Bell from the north tower on Wednesday. It was an amazing day, requiring coordination from our construction team, Gramercy and Triton, our staff, and our city officials.
Liberation requires team work, my loves. A team of our staff made sure we told the story well. Here is a link for you to see and share.
I rang that bell 19 times, 19 times in honor of Juneteenth, the 19th day of June when the NATION will now celebrate Black freedom. Of course we are not fully free. But our Juneteenth Now 2021 Get Us Free! programming will celebration Black resistance, resilience and joy.
Saturday night The Riverside Church partners with us to host a start studded program featuring a live surprise number from Stephanie Mills.
On Sunday afternoon, after an amazing worship celebration featuring accomplished bass singer Sidney Outlaw at 11:45 a.m. ET, Professor Annette Gordon-Reed will join me at 1:00 p.m. in the Freedom Lab classroom to discuss her book On Juneteenth and mine, Fierce Love. Workshops will follow. Get your tickets today, not only to celebrate and learn but to help Middle Church rise from the ashes. Yes, it’s a fundraiser; that’s part of why we’re charging you!
I love you very much, and working for freedom with you is my greatest joy.
