Fierce Love Looks Like Communal Resurrection

When Middle Church was devastated by fire in December 2020, Rabbi Josh Stanton of East End Temple offered a helping hand to be with our congregation as we wade through the wilderness and rebuild. 

“Your loss is felt well beyond your community. Your heartbreak, we share in. And we’re here for you, however possible,” I remember Rabbi Josh sharing. 

When Middle Church was seeking a place to re-enter worship in a hybrid format, Rabbi Josh and I began to dream together on how together we could partner to create Fierce Love in a revolutionary way. 

On Easter Sunday, Middle Church held their very first Hybrid Worship Celebration back in a physical building at East End Temple – fitting for a day where Christians celebrate the resurrection of love.

It is an incredible act of generosity and trust for East End  to make space in their community for us to tabernacle with them and I am forever grateful to Rabbi Josh and East End for saying yes to Middle and communal rising.
